“The ‘Sukkat Shalom’ of Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality” Come and be our guest and enjoy accessible activities

Throughout the days of the Sukkot holiday, a beautiful and colorful Sukkah is set up open to everyone, at the entrance to Yafo from the promenade, facing Clock Square. All can come and visit at any time of the day, sit inside, by the sea, and enjoy its beauty. In the evenings, visitors can join (free of charge) accessible activities by the ‘equinote ACCESSIBLE CULTURAL’ Association, that works on making culture accessible to people with disabilities and for all children, with or without disabilities, at 5pm and 6pm. On two evenings, there will also be live music performances on-site. The performances in the Sukkah are part of the association’s warming project, in which experienced artists host and mentor young artists with special needs.

Accessible activities for the whole family:

October 2 – Pearl Comes to the Sukkah Liomor Yitzchaik, an actress and therapeutic clown, will perform and create a playful and musical dialogue with Omer Panchessi, a young musician on the autistic spectrum, and the audience. 5pm and 6pm.

October 3 – Sounds from the Sea and the Desert – Interactive Sound Workshop We invite children to play and create together, making a joyful and rhythmic creation. Afterwards, we will relax with gentle music, vocal vibrations, Tibetan bowls, bells, rain sticks, and even allow for some relaxation. Co-led by Rina Avishar, a professional musician and certified body-mind therapist, and Yoram Lekish, a wind instrument player and group facilitator, along with Coral Lekish, a hearing-impaired actress. 5pm and 6pm.

October 4 – Heartbeat of the Soul – Body Percussion and Music Workshop A lively and joyful meeting of body percussion, rhythm learning, introduction to various percussion instruments, and joint music-making. Hosted by Avner Kadmi, a musician, percussionist, and music therapist. Avner appears as a percussionist and dancer in “Tararam” and “Koolulam.” The workshop will be co-led with Gali Nunir, a young artist with special needs. 5pm and 6pm

October 5 – What’s the Rhythm? A rich and upbeat musical performance by Hagi Raz, a musician and composer, who will play and tell stories with musical instruments from around the world, including the Australian Didgeridoo, Yemenite Shofar, American Banjo, and more. We will sing, dance, and build musical instruments together, concluding with a joint concert. Hagi will host Guy Bayo, a young and captivating musician on the autistic spectrum. 5pm and 6pm.

Thursday, October 5, 8pm- 10pm

Thursday Night Party with Avi Meir. Avi Meir and the ensemble with an Eastern groove. A performance that swings between ballads and joyful dances.
