Independence Trail is a joint project of the Ministry of Jerusalem and Heritage, Ministry of Tourism and the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality. It is managed by Tel Aviv Global & Tourism and is operated by Disk-In. The Independence Trail was established by initiative of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Mayor, Ron Huldai, and is one of the main projects that were undertaken in honor of Israel’s 70th anniversary. The project articulates a core principle in the Municipality’s tourism strategy, which calls for enhancing the national and Zionist heritage sites in the city and making them more accessible to the public.
Sarona Visitor’s Center
Through multimedia installations and displays featuring original artifacts, this three-story visitor’s center tells the fascinating story of Sarona Colony. While today Sarona serves as a popular shopping and recreation center, the site was originally a German Templar Colony established in 1871. Later on, it also housed the first government offices of the State of Israel. The center also offers guided tours of Sarona’s secret and historic underground tunnels.

The outdoor part of the center allows visitors to rest and enjoy information on Yafo 24/7.
