A celebration of Tel Aviv’s authenticity, energy, contradictions and beauty in imperfection.
Tel Aviv Global & Tourism, the municipal company of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, has launched “Messy & Beautiful” a new video presenting Tel Aviv as it truly is: energetic, complex, creative and unapologetically authentic.
The video was inspired by the period Tel Aviv has experienced since October 7 and was created as a message to those who know and love the city.
Rather than portraying the city as a polished, picture-perfect Instagram destination, the video captures the everyday moments that shape its identity. Crowded streets, beaches, construction sites, neighborhood cafés, nightlife, artists, entrepreneurs, matkot players, stray cats and quiet Shabbat mornings all come together to tell the story of a city that never stops moving.
The video takes a playful look at some of Tel Aviv’s most familiar characteristics, including its noise, traffic, density and nonstop pace. Gradually, these same qualities are revealed as an inseparable part of its charm. A small moment of an elderly couple kissing in a café becomes a turning point, revealing the affection behind the playful observations.
The video presents a different approach to destination storytelling, one that does not hide imperfection but celebrates it as part of the city’s beauty and character.
We’re not a postcard. We sweat, we rush, we’re sometimes loud. But we’re always trying to reinvent ourselves and live real, passionate lives.
